Focus is the word for 2016.

I’ve come a little late to the new year planning party, with the first 6 weeks of 2016 out of the workshop.  I’ve struggled to adjust to a truncated workday thanks to my eldest starting school.  Its been a wonderful break after a hectic final 3 months of 2015. I’ve had time to reflect on the happenings of 2015 and start planning my focus for 2016. I now realise I worked really hard, smashed some goals and absolutely pushed my business forward.

2015 was a great year for trying new things with Marbelle Design.

Resin classes with Wild Rumpus

I loved teaching Resin Jewellery workshops with Wild Rumpus. Wild Rumpus is a creative skill sharing social enterprise that aims to build a resourceful, sustainable and creative community. They run an impressive array of classes taught by volunteer teachers and co-ordinate the Maker’s Market twice a year (I have lots of love for their markets).

You can find out more about all things Wild Rumpus here.

I exhibited at the Scarborough Art Show and had a great run of market days at The Farms Market. I did some fetes. I finally got my act together and found an awesome web designer Castle Design to build me a website. I started a subscriber newsletter.

I was busy, probably too busy and lacked a bit of focus.  I was run down and struggled with colds and flu all year. By the time Christmas came around I was ready to shut the workshop door and spend uninterrupted time with my family.

2016 is about focus.

My heart wants to focus on my resin work (but I’m keeping my acrylic and silicone accessories for now).

I’m planning more classes and want to run one in the Southern Illawarra (Shellharbour, Kiama). If you know of a perfect venue let me know!

My next goal is to be a RAW Wollongong artist in the 1st April show at Wollongong Uni. I’m back in the workshop planning a new colour range and creating some favourites for that show.  I’ll be at The Wild Rumpus Makers Market in June and November.

I’m hoping to add to this blog on a regular basis. Finally I’m looking forward to having a larger range of jewellery available via my Etsy store and keeping my stockists filled with resiny goodness.

Fitting all this into two childfree work days is going to be a challenge. But I’m up for it. So let’s do this!

P.S. I love seeing my creations in the wild and hearing awesome feedback. Tag @marbelledesign on instagram or write a review on my facebook page.
